Also I used regular door hinges as they are inexpensive and work well. My oldest was home from college and wanted ribs. Due to the fact that there are many ways you can build a smoker, the materials and space where you work will vary for everyone. This creates a really smooth and reliable intake. Once the hinges were welded on, the door was then cut out using the angle grinder. The 14 gauge sheet metal is thinner than the 1/8" bar-stock which allows the doors to slide once the rail is finished.
